IPL 7 auction: Meet cricketers bought on hefty sums on Day 1

New Delhi: As the Indian Premier League's seventh edition auction was in progress, all the franchisees were leaving no chance of grabbing the in-form and high flying cricketers of the world.The first day of the auction saw top players selling like hot cakes in return for huge prices.Here is the list of cricketers who fetched sums above Rs 5 crore:1. Yuvraj Singh (India)- Former Pune Warriors player, India's glitzy all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for a staggering Rs14 crores. 2. Dinesh Karthik (India)- Formerly played for Mumbai Indians, Dinesh was grabbed by Delhi Daredevils for Rs 12.5 crores. 3. Kevin Pieterson (England)- He may be out of England's national team but this hard hitting batsman was in huge demand. He was bought by Delhi Daredevils at Rs 9 crores. 4. Mitchell Johnson (Australia)- Former Mumbai Indians bowling spearhead, Mitchell grabbed by Kings XI Punjab at Rs 6.5 crores. Mumbai Indians must be cursing themselves on not retaining this fierce pacer.5. Glenn Maxwell (Australia)- Glenn Maxwell was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs 6 crore. 6. Jacques Kallis (South Africa)- Kallis was bought again by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 5.5 crores. 7. David Warner (Australia)- Former Delhi Daredevils batsman, Warner was bought for Rs 5.5 crores by Sunrisers Hyderabad. 8. Robin Uthappa (India)- Robin who was previously the member of Pune Warriors was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 5 crores. 9. Michael Hussey (Australia)- Mr Cricket, Hussey who was former player of Chennai Super Kings was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 5 crores. 10. Murali Vijay (India)- Former CSK's player, Murali was grabbed by Delhi Daredevils at Rs 5 crore. 11. Mitchell Starc (Australia)- Australian pacer Michael Starc was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 5 crore.
