New Delhi, May 1: Hyderabad take on Mumbai in the 43rd match of the Indian T20 League at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
After a couple of losses, Mumbai have hit back hard with three victories in a row and they now sit fourth in the table with 12 points.
After undoing the Bangalore juggernaut, they clinched a thriller against Mohali in their last game. Their skipper, Rohit Sharma led from the front with a sublime 79 off 39 balls when they were struggling at 43/2 to power the hosts to a competitive total of 174.
They need to improve a bit in the bowling department as the Mohali batsmen gave them a scare while chasing. Mumbai's fielding has been exceptional.
There have been some handy contributions from Smith at the top that have helped them but Sachin Tendulkar needs to step up a gear and fire big time. Mumbai have been terrific at home as they have won all their four matches.
This will a test for them and they would be looking to continue with the same momentum.
Hyderabad, on the other hand, have had a roller-coaster ride throughout the tournament with five wins and four losses so far. They will go into the match on the back of consecutive losses.
Their batting has let them down throughout the tournament. Sangakkara, who made his comeback in the last match, has had a horror run with the bat so far. If in case he does play this match he is due for a big contribution.
Their spinners took some stick in the last match against Jaipur. Both of them, Amit Mishra and Karan Sharma have been impressive and Hyderabad would be hoping that they bounce back hard soon.
But their main concern is batting and if they do well in that department they have the capability to stop the Mumbai juggernaut.
