IPL 2025 mega auction: List of players Mumbai Indians bought on Day 2; Will Jacks, Santner steal buys

Mumbai Indians were off to a quiet start on Day 2 of the IPL mega auction 2025 in Jeddah on Monday. Mumbai made the headlines for signing the star Indian bowler Deepak Chahar for Rs 9.25 crore and Afghanistan's rising spinner Allah Ghazanfar for Rs 4.8 crore.

The five-time champions witnessed a quiet day on Sunday with Trent Boult being the only capped signing. Mumbai seemed off to a slow start on Day 2 but significantly boosted their squad by spending big on Deepak Chahar and Will Jacks.

MI showed a strong interest in the experienced fast bowler Mumbai Indians and went toe-to-toe with LSG and RCB. But due to their limited purse amount, Hardik Pandya's side had to back off after the bid crossed Rs 10 crore. Mumbai also tried to sign Marco Jansen and Anshul Kamboj but were forced to back off due to a limited budget.

Mumbai Indians entered day 2 of the auction with Rs 26.1 crore after signing just 4 players on Sunday. Deepak will join the Jasprit Bumrah-led bowling attack at Mumbai Indians and also provided a positive fitness update to the MI fans.

"Feeling great going from one great franchise to another franchise," Deepak Chahar said. "I think Mumbai suits swing and my style and there's some seam movement. So, good to be part of this franchise. All good (on his fitness). Whatever role the team gives me I will do it. I just want to win the trophy. At CSK, I didn’t get much opportunity to bat but with the Indian team, I’ve done well with the bat."
