LSG manage to beat DC by 6 wickets
Lucknow Super Giants beat Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets to register their third win of the season. After the Quinton de Kock show, DC managed to pull back things but in the end, LSG's lower-order got the better of DC's death bowlers.
Quinton de Kock gone after scoring 80 in 52 balls
Kuldeep Yadav has come to rescue Delhi Capitals once again as he removes dangerous-looking de Kock on 80. But is it too little too late for Delhi? Flighted ball outside off and Sarfaraz Khan takes a diving catch at short third man. Krunal Pandya has joined Deepak Hooda in the middle.
DC continue to fight back
Evin Lewis departs as Lalit Yadav gets his first wicket in his last over. Good use of the all-rounder by Rishabh Pant. The off-spinner was brought back to take care of two left-handers batting. Lewis is the one to walk into the trap, looking to pull across the line but the extra bounce does him in. Skews it straight up towards the mid-on region where Kuldeep was ready, having trekked backward from mid-wicket.
Fifty for Quinton de Kock
South African star Quinton de Kock continues his great form for his new franchise Lucknow Super Giants as he hit another fifty. The southpaw completes his fifty in 36 balls to keep LSG's chase on track. His innings is studded with six boundaries and one six.
Kuldeep Yadav strikes as KL Rahul falls
Kuldeep Yadav provides the much-needed breakthrough for Delhi Capitals as he removed LSG captain KL Rahul for 24. Rahul dance down the pitch looks to loft it for a six straight down the ground but doesn't get anywhere near the pitch of the ball. Had to fetch it from far outside off-stump and he skewed it off the cue. The ball gets the end of the bat, and Prithvi Shaw takes an easy catch at long-off.
Rahul, de Kock give LSG solid start in 149-run chase
Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul and his opening partner Quinton de Kock stitched an important partnership for the first wicket with 48 runs in 6 overs. All eyes will be on DC's spinners, especially on Kuldeep Yadav, who has shown top form in the first two games.
LSG restrict DC to 149/3 after Prithvi Shaw's 50
Delhi were 67/0 in the 8th over of the innings and were looking solid for a big total on the run-friendly pitch of Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai but Lucknow's bowlers pulled things back to restrict DC for 149. Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets while Krishnappa Gowtham removed dangerous Prithvi Shaw.
Rishabh Pant, Sarfaraz Khan steadies Delhi's ship
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan are driving the innings as LSG bounce back with three quick wickets after the powerplay. The duo is building a crucial partnership for Delhi as LSG search for wickets.
Ravi Bishnoi all over Delhi Capitals
The leg-spinner gets his second wicket of the night as he ends Rovman Powell's sluggish innings. Another wicket on googly for him as this time the batsman gets clean bowled as he fails to read the ball. LSG has bounced back well after the Prithvi Shaw show.
David Warner fails in his Delhi Capitals' debut
Ravi Bishnoi gets the David Warner. The ball pitched outside and it was googly by the leg spinner, Warner goes for a slash but ends up giving a simple catch to Ayush Badoni at the backward point. Two quick wickets for LSG.
Krishnappa Gowtham provides breakthrough, removes dangerous-looking Prithvi Shaw
Edged and taken! Brilliant catch behind the stump by Quinton de Kock as Prithvi Shaw departs after scoring 34 runs in 61 balls with the help of nine boundaries and two sixes. He batted with a strike rate of 179. Krishnappa Gowtham got his first wicket for LSG. Now Warner will look to accelerate a bit.
Pocket size dynamites having a blast
Delhi Capitals' opening pair of David Warner and Prithvi Shaw are having a blast in the middle with the right-hand batsman being the aggressor while the southpaw is playing the anchor role. To everyone's surprise, Warner has just played 9 balls in the powerplay. Shaw is inching towards fifty with 47 runs in 27 balls with the help of eight boundaries and one six.
Both team captains at the toss
Rishabh Pant: We'd have bowled first as well because we haven't played here before. Three changes for us - Warner comes in for Seifert, Nortje in for Khaleel and Sarfaraz replaces Mandeep. He (Warner) is a big addition, such an experienced player, and will add value for us.
KL Rahul: We'll bowl first. Can't really think of a reason why but it's a fresh wicket. We'd want to bowl well upfront and restrict them. One change - Manish misses out and Gowtham comes in. Still early in the competition. Chat is about forgetting what happened, whether we win or lose, and putting our 100 percent going forward. Another opportunity to go out there and perform well as a team.
Team Changes
One change in Lucknow Super Giants playing XI as struggling Manish Pandey has been dropped to bring in all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham while Delhi Capitals made wholesale changes as David Warner, Anrich Nortje and Sarfaraz come in for Tim Siefert, Khaleel Ahmad and Mandeep Singh.
