Abbas Ali Baig played in 10 Tests from 1959 to 1966. He was named one of Indian Cricket 's five Cricketers of the Year for 1959/60.
He holds the record for the most runs scored in a first-class match for Oxford University: playing against Free Foresters at The University Parks in 1959, he scored 221 not out in the first innings and 87 in the second for a total of 308.
