South Africa have announced a 15-player squad for the upcoming four-match T20I series against India and it marks the return of several senior players like David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen among others who have not played a single international game since the heartbreaking loss to India in the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in June.
Speedsters Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee are also making their return to the international scene after a long conditioning break. While Jansen was a part of South Africa's T20 World Cup squad, Coetzee played in the T20I series against the West Indies before the ICC event in the USA and the Caribbean.
Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada have not been included in the squad. Both bowlers are a part of South Africa's squad for the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh. Apart from Miller and Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj will also make his return to the white-ball set-up for the first time after playing in the T20 World Cup.
Uncapped all-rounders Andile Simelane and Mihlali Mpongwana have also been named on the squad. Both players enjoyed a successful outing in the recently culminated CSA T20 Challenge as they finished as the joint second-leading wicket-takers with 14 wickets apiece.
The four-match T20I series will begin with the first match slated to be played at the Kingsmead in Durban and will culminate with the final fixture at The Wanderers in Johannesburg.
