LONDON: Stuart Broad removed India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his 250th test wicket as India stumbled to 140-6 against England at tea on day one of the second test at Lord's on Thursday.
Dhoni scored just 1 before he edged Broad behind to Matt Prior, extending India's struggle after being sent in to bat on a green pitch.
His dismissal brought to the crease Rahindra Jadeja, who was booed by England supporters due to a first-test confrontation with James Anderson which has both players facing a disciplinary hearing.
Jadeja made 3 before Moeen Ali trapped him lbw.
Left in the middle at tea were Ajinkya Rahane on 26 not out, and Stuart Binny on 6.
The wickets were shared around, with Anderson taking 2-19 off 14 overs, and the rest going to Broad, Ali, Liam Plunkett and Ben Stokes.
India went to lunch at 73-2, which could have been worse if Prior had not dropped two catches.
Nevertheless, Indian wickets fell a lot more regularly in the middle session.
Anderson claimed his second wicket in the afternoon session by removing Virat Kohli, caught behind for 25, while Stokes bowled Cheteshwar Pujara for 28 with an in-swinger.
