Johannesburg: India were bowled out for 280 on day two of first test against South Africa here Thursday. India could add just 25 runs to their over night score.
South Africa took the advantage of morning moisture dismissing Dhoni first. He was caught behind off Morne Morkel. He added just two more runs to his over night score of 17. Rahane was too caught behind the wicket off Philander who took three of five wickets that fell in the first session. Rahane made 47.
While Ashwin remained not out on 11, Zaheer, Shamia and Ishant did not bother the scorer and went back to pavilion without any resistance.
For South Africa Philander took four wickets 61 and Morkel accounted for three wickets for 34.
India were 255/5 yesterday and were expected to post a decent total but lasted just 13 overs. Virat Kohl (119) and Rahane (47) were the only two Indian batsmen who defied South African pacers.
