Team India will have an opportunity to climb to second position in Test Rankings as they take on South Africa in the upcoming four match Test series. India will play the first Test match starting from November 5 at Mohali.
India are currently placed 5th in the ICC Test rankings. South Africa top the table followed by Australia, England and Pakistan. A series win will take India to the second position.
Team India will be playing under the leadership of Virat Kohli in the Test series. Virat Kohli will once again have an uphill task as South Africa have played 15 series and have won 10 and drawn five in various countries . However, it can be said that it will be a close encounter between both the sides as Team India has won 17 Test match series out of 25 that it has played at home since 2000.
Men in Blue arrived in Mohali yesterday and has hit the nets today. Ashwin who is nearing fitness, was seen bowling at the nets. India skipper Virat Kohli was seen talking to youngsters at the PCA stadium while taking a break from the nets.
Virat Kohli who has shown his aggressive stint as a captain during Team India's historic win at the Sri Lankan soil after a gap of 22 years will certainly look to start the campaign on a wining note.
Last time when South Africa had came to India it was a drawn Test series. Both the sides had won a test match in the two match test series.
