Kolkata: Pacer Mohammad Shami jolted West Indies by taking two wickets immediately after lunch in the first of two test series here Wednesday.
Shami first uprooted well set batsman Marlon Samuel's middle wickets who made 65 off 98 balls with 11 fours and two sixes. He than did not allow Ramdin to settle down he he clean bowled him for just four runs.
The 23 year old Shami, while making his test debut here, is the most successful bowler so afr taking three wickets. In the morning session he had consumed Powell(28) who was looking dangerous.
Early morning West indies won the toss and elected to bat first on a newly laid wicket.
