IND vs USA, T20 World Cup Highlights: India win by 7 wickets riding on Arshdeep, Suryakumar Yadav's show

Suryakumar Yadav gets to a crucial fifty as he played probably his best knock as he takes India to a Super 8 spot-sealing win against the USA. This was the joint-third slowest fifty in T20 World Cup history but more importantly, India have crossed the line.

USA have been docked a five-run penalty for exceeding the 60-second rule three times. As per the new playing conditions by the ICC, a team has to start the next over within 60 seconds in normal circumstances (excluding review, injury). USA surpassed that limit three times and hence a five-run penalty was handed. Which meant India's score went from 76 to 81.

Shivam Dube and Suryakumar Yadav have built a decent 35-run partnership and have kept India on course after the Men in Blue found themselves in a tough spot with three wickets down.

Rishabh Pant after playing a few good shots has been cleaned up by Ali Khan for 18. The ball stayed a bit low and Pant couldn't do anything about it. Can USA sustain the pressure as India are three down now?

Rohit Sharma departs now as Saurabh Netravalkar is running riot in the powerplay with the ball. Rohit tried to go over the mid-off fielder but it got big on him and ended up handing a catch over to Harmeet Singh who took a good catch running back.

Saurabh Netravalkar got the most important wicket of his career as Virat Kohli got dismissed for a golden duck. Kohli chased a wide delivery outside the off stump and ended up handing a simple catch to the wicketkeeper Andries Gous.

Arshdeep Singh has registered the best figures by an Indian bowler in T20 World Cup (4/9) as he overtook R Ashwin (4/11) with Harmeet Singh's scalp. USA have now lost seven wickets.

Corey Anderson fell prey to Hardik Pandya's rising bouncer as USA have now lost six wickets. Just when it looked like that the USA could have gotten to a score in excess of 130, they have lost a set batter.

USA are five down now as Mohammed Siraj at deep square leg took a one-handed blinder to send back Nitish Kumar. Arshdeep Singh has gotten his third wicket as USA are not able to get that big 40-50 run partnership.

This name has been taken quite a few times in the last week or so and Nitish Kumar brought out an aggressive gameplan against India. Nitish has raced off to 26 off 19, which is quite an achievement on this New York surface.

Axar Patel is taking crucial wickets for India every match and this time gets the set Steven Taylor. Taylor, who had hit a couple of sixes in the last few overs, was unlucky as an inside edge hit his boot and eventually onto the stumps.

Hardik Pandya continues to flourish as a bowler as he has bounced out USA's stand-in captain Aaron Jones who hit it straight to the fine leg fielder. USA are now three down for 25.

USA's powerplay continued to be snail-paced and the same could be said for the recovery after losing those two wickets in the first over. USA could only score 18 runs in the powerplay and will need to up the tempo in the coming overs.

Arshdeep Singh began with a wicket and has ended the first over with a wicket as India have gotten off to a sensational start after choosing to bowl first. Andries Gous decided to go after Arshdeep but extra bounce did him and he got off the slice of the bat and Hardik Pandya running from mid off took an easy catch.

Shayan Jehangir, who replaced USA skipper Monank Patel at the top of the order, didn't read the incoming delivery from Arshdeep Singh and was adjudged LBW as India get a wicket on the first ball of the match.

USA openers Stevan Taylor and Shayan Jehangir are out and will be hoping for a good start in the absence of skipper Monank Patel.

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has elected to bowl first after winning the toss saying that the pitch has played a lot better in the last couple of games but mentioned that having a score in the front is always good.

Pitch No 3 today for the IND vs USA match, which was used yesterday for the Pakistan-Canada game. 70m and 66m square boundaries and 72m straight boundary. It will be again an up and down surface with hard-length again the way to go for the bowlers. Bowling first might be a better option for the team winning the toss.

There have been a couple of places, which have come under the scanner - Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja - because of non-performances but will India will eager to make changes when they have won both their games? It will be interesting to see.

Many of the USA players have played age-group cricket in India. Played in the IPL with current Indian players. Hence, there will be a few friendly rivalries, both wicketkeepers can speak in Hindi. It's birthplace vs workplace for many players in the USA cricket team and there will be extra motivation for them to perform against India.

It's not often that the playing conditions have this much say in the results but that has been the case at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The highest first innings score has been 137 while highest score chased down has been 107. The nature of surfaces has reduced the difference between teams in New York and the USA will hope that's the case against India on Wednesday, June 12.
