IND vs IRE 1st T20I Highlights: Rain plays spoilsport as India record narrow win on DLS

After a promising start with 45 runs in the first six overs, India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Verma on back-to-back deliveries off Craig Young in 7th over. However, rain interrupts the game with team India ahead on the DLS method by two runs only.

Garry McCarthy smashes two big sixes off Arshdeep Singh in the last over to drag Ireland to a total of 139/7 in 20 overs. Arshdeep conceded 22 runs in the last over as McCarthy scored unbeaten 51 runs off 33 balls with four fours and four sixes. Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets each while Arshdeep bagged one for India.

Arshdeep Singh breaks the deadlock with Curtis Campher's wicket with a deadly yorker in the 18th over. Campher scored 39 off 33 and added crucial 57 runs for the 7th wicket with Barry McCarthy to drag Ireland from 59/6 to 116/7 after 18 overs.

Ravi Bishnoi takes a brave DRS after the umpire denied lbw dismissal. Replay gives India their sixth wicket and Bshnoi his second. The hosts struggle at 59 for 6 after 11 overs.

Returning pacer Prasidh Krishna gets George Dockrell to pick his second wicket on his T20I debut. Dockrell scored just one run and throws his wicket at mid-off with Ruturaj Gaikwad taking an easy catch.

Indian bowlers continue to overpower the hosts with four wickets in the first six overs. Young spinner Ravi Bishnoi removes set batter and Irish captain Paul Stirling to put India in complete control of the game.

After a flying start from Jasprit Bumrah, debutant pacer Prasidh Krishna makes an instant impact on his debut with the valuable wicket of Harry Tector in his first T20I over. Ireland down at 27 for 3 after five overs.

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed the former captain Andy Balbirnie on the innings' second delivery after conceding a four on the first ball. The delivery took a thick edge off the bat and landed on the off stump. He then removed the wicketkeeper batter Lorcan Tucker on the fifth delivery to give India a perfect start.

Jasprit Bumrah last played competitive cricket during a home ODI series against Australia in September 2022. He suffered a back injury and missed the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 and the Indian Premier League 2023. He spent the last few months at National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to recover and now targets a match fitness to be ready for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 and the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 tournament.

"I was bowling normally [in the nets]. It's not like I am holding back. I am enjoying it quite a lot. I've done a lot of net sessions here. When my rehabilitation ended, I went home too and even practiced with the Gujarat team. I've done a lot of net sessions in a lot of places, and even played a lot of practice matches. So it's not like I am bowling with a restriction or I am holding back," Jasprit Bumrah said on his return.
