SOUTHAMPTON, England: Alastair Cook says his England teammates still want him to be captain but denies the pressures of leading his country have damaged his form with the bat.
Cook says "there is nothing worse when you don't score runs and feeling you have let the other 10 guys down."
Speaking Saturday ahead of the third test against India, Cook denied the captaincy is the reason he has not made a century in 14 months.
Cook says "at the beginning it was going well and everyone was saying it was helping my batting and now it is not going so well, everyone says it is not."
England trails India 1-0 after two tests in the five-match series. The third test starts Sunday in Southampton.
