New Delhi, Nov 18: Despite India's great bowling display the English batman Alastair Cook (138*) has reached its Team score to 264 at the loss of 5 wickets till Tea. Cook is unstoppable and is not out at 138runs.
Though in the second session India was successful in claiming two more wickets as pacer Yadav got rid of Bell for 22 runs and Patel for a duck but Cook made Team India bite sand. Matt Prior is accompanying Cook at the center and is looking good with 40 runs.
Earlier, Alasitar Cook's century took team's score to 168 for the loss of 3 wickets till Lunch.
It didn't took long for India to cheer, as Zaheer Khan got rid of English opener Compton for 37 runs on the last delivery of 46th over.
Trott batting at no. 3 was caught by Ohja for 17 runs while Pietersen was also surprised to get bold by the same bowler. KP scored just 2 runs.
Cook(101) and Bell (10) are at crease for now.
The day's play started with captain Alastair Cook and Compton resuming the England second innings, following on.
On Day 3, Ravichandran Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha, who bagged a five-wicket haul, struck relentlessly till England choked and ran out of breath, being eventually bowled out for 191.
After following on, Cook and Compton survived till stumps taking England to 111/0 in their second essay.
Though Cook and Compton adopted a more positive and resolute approach, it will be a herculean task for the visiting team to survive the remaining six sessions, especially with the track showing more signs of wear and tear.
England's most dependable pair of Cook and Kevin Pietersen were out in the middle when play started but Ojha soon cleaned up KP, squaring the batsman up and sending his stumps crashing with a perfect left-armer spinner's delivery.
Ian Bell lasted just one ball, stepping out and hitting Ojha and paying the price as Tendulkar held on to a well-judged catch at mid-off. Cook faced the hat-trick ball but survived, his gentle steer on the leg side falling a little short of the fielder at short fine-leg.
He survived another confident shout for leg-before the very next ball, but soon Cook's patience deserted him. He leaned forward looking to drive one from Ashwin and edged to Sehwag at slip.
Both Ojha and Ashwin snared eight of the 10 wickets to fall in the first innings, with two going to the seamers. Umesh Yadav and Zaheer showed that in these conditions they were a notch above their counterparts in the opposition camp.
The England seamers sent down 70 overs for one wicket at the cost of 245 runs while the Indian duo sent down just 22 overs, out of which nine were maidens, gave away 37 runs and bagged two wickets.
