IND vs BAN 2nd Test Live Score: India wrap up 2-0 series win in Kanpur vs Bangladesh, 18th in a row at home

India have won the clash from out of nowhere. One of the most special Test wins for India at home as they finished off the series with a 2-0 win.

Taijul Islam gets his first as Yashasvi Jaiswal in order to blow the cover of the ball and finish in style, miscued it straight into the hands of Shakib Al Hasan.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has smashed his seventh half-century in Test cricket, his second in the Test match as India are on the brink of a massive win.

Mehidy Hasan has picked up another wicket as Shubman Gill departs for another low score. The ball stayed a bit in the surface and turned quite sharply and Gill was trapped in front, as plumb as it can get.

Captain Rohit Sharma has hit straight to the deep square leg fielder in an attempt to hit it over him. Bangladesh have gotten the first wicket as Rohit departs cheaply yet again.

The approach is likely to be aggressive once again for Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal as they look to track down 95 runs quickly.

Jasprit Bumrah gets his third wicket as he cleans up Mushfiqur Rahim on the final delivery before lunch and India need just 95 runs to pull off one of the most remarkable victories in Test cricket history.

Jasprit Bumrah gets another one, plumbs Taijul Islam in front and Bangladesh have lost their ninth wicket.

Jasprit Bumrah strikes, gets Mehidy Hasan yet again! Pitched on middle and off, the ball shaped away just a touch and an easy catch for Rishabh Pant after taking Mehidy's outside edge.

Ravindra Jadeja has sent back Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan in quick succession as the left-arm spinner is eating up Bangladesh, leaving no crumbs. The wicket delivery to Litton rose up sharply and took his gloves on the way to Rishabh Pant's gloves while Shakib tried to play a forward defence and handed a simple caught and bowled chance to Jadeja. Jadeja has three now and Bangladesh's innings is slowly derailing.

Shadman Islam has departed now! Akash Deep has sent back the set batter. Akash induced an outside edge and Shadman has hit straight to Jaiswal in gully, the only fielder behind apart from the wicketkeeper, who takes another very good catch. Bangladesh are five down now.

Shadman Islam has become the first Bangladeshi opener to smash a Test fifty in India as he survived an LBW shout but has played really well to take Bangladesh's innings forward.

A brain fade from captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has meant that Ravindra Jadeja has knocked his leg pole out of the country. Shanto tried to reverse sweep but completely missed the delivery and Bangladesh lose their fourth wicket as Jadeja has broken the dangerous-looking partnership.

India go for the review against Shadman Islam but the ball seemed to be going down leg. However, Akash Deep insisted that it might hit the leg-stump with the angle and Rohit went for the review. It was the umpire's call on hitting and India save a review.

It has been a wonderful partnership between the two left-handers for Bangladesh after the fall of a big wicket of Mominul. The stand is 50 now and the lead has crossed 35 for Bangladesh. A very good fightback from the visitors and India are slowly feeling the pressure.

Bangladesh are into the lead now as Shadman Islam is looking really solid. He is getting behind the line of the ball and playing on the merit and Bangladesh have overhauled the score of 52. Now India's real test begins.

The first-innings centurion Mominul Haque has departed early in the piece on the final day of the Kanpur Test with a plan coming to fruition. Since Mominul depends a lot more, after it not being there in the first over, Rohit Sharma had a leg-slip for Mominul, he tried to sweep Ashwin and was early on his shot, hit on the top of the bat and straight to KL Rahul, who took a very good catch. 

Bangladesh - 36/3 (14 overs)

R Ashwin, having already taken a couple of wickets late on Day 4 in the second innings, will be keen to get India off and running on Day 5 while Shadman Islam and Momniul Haque's first target will be to get through the first hour unscathed.

Fastest team fifty, hundred, 150, 200, 250 - you name it! India were on a mission to achieve and break multiple records. There were some personal milestones too. Jasprit Bumrah became the first bowler in 2024 to get to 50 international wickets, Ravindra Jadeja completed his 300 in Tests while Virat Kohli became the fastest to 27,000 runs in international cricket.

A lot more cracks have developed on the pitch, even though technically it is only the third day's play, but there are a lot of footmarks visible and with the bounce being so low on Day 4 only. The batting won't be easy and Bangladesh batters have their work cut-out. Can they deny India on what is going to be a challenging surface to play? The likes of Ashwin and Jadeja will be licking their lips to bowl on this wicket.

The first half an hour will probably give an indication as to where Bangladesh wants to go in terms of taking their second batting innings forward. If the first few overs late on the fourth day are any signal, Bangladesh won't risk losing wickets in order to play aggressive. 

Apart from Mominul Haque, no other Bangladesh batter offered much resistance as Jasprit Bumrah and India's catching were too good for them as they lost 7/126 on Day 4. Since India had restricted Bangladesh to under 250, they knew that if they bat fast and well, they could nail that target down in no time, which is exactly what happened.

India ripped off a page from Bazball book of batting and showed how to do it better and even faster. India came out in the middle in Kanpur on Day 4 with a single-mindedness of winning and played fast to make up for the lost time. Even though India got a lead of only 52 runs, it was a huge one given the context and Bangladesh have already lost two wickets with 26 runs still left to be scored.
