A brilliant day for India!! Bangladesh have ended the day at 26/2 and they still trail by 26 runs. India are ahead in this Test and will be looking force things on ther final day now. They need eight wickets more and would be banking on their bowlers to do the job before coming out and chasing the score.

Bangladesh have lost their second wicket with nightwatchman Hasan Mahmud dismissed for 4 runs. The visitors are 26/2.

What a tremendous session for India!! Indian batters went bonkers literally from the word go to notch up the fastest-ever team fifty in just three overs. India are 138/2 after 16 overs.

Hasan Mahmud has cleaned up Yashasvi Jaiswal as the ball stayed low and the batter was late in bringing his bat down and has lost his stumps. India have lost both their openers now.

India have achieved the fastest team century in Test cricket in just 10.1 overs, bettering their own record. India are making light work of Bangladesh's bowling.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has smashed the joint third fastest fifty for India in Test cricket as India are racing towards Bangladesh's total of 233 runs. 

Mehidy Hasan has cleaned up Rohit Sharma as the Indian captain has run out of luck. Rohit edged a Hasan Mahmud delivery in the third over but the umpire didn't hear it and Bangladesh didn't review it. Just before the wicket, the umpire came up with a horrible LBW call and gave Rohit out but the impact was outside. This time, Mehidy bowled a bit slow and it stayed low, going in between the gap and straight into the stumps.

India have broken the world record for the fastest team fifty in Test cricket. England achieved the record in July earlier this year against the West Indies in 4.2 overs, India have done it in just three overs as Jaiswal and Rohit have come out all guns blazing.

India have raced off to 29 runs in the first two overs with Yashasvi Jaiswal hitting four boundaries while Rohit Sharma went after Khaled Ahmed hitting a couple of sixes in a row.

Ravindra Jadeja gets the final one as Mominul Haque was left stranded. Jadeja gets his 300th Test wicket as Bangladesh have been bowled out for 233, adding just 126 to their Day 1 score of 107/3 while losing seven wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah is the highest wicket-taker in international cricket in 2024 and has become the first bowler to get to 50 scalps this year.

Another wicket goes down as Siraj gets Hasan Mahmud and Bangladesh are now 231/9

Looking at Bumrah anyone would think that bowling is very easy, he just makes it look so! A proper magician on show as after getting Mehidy with an swinging delivery, Taijul was bowled with a nipbacker as he was late on the cut and saw his off-stump dwindle.

Jasprit Bumrah does hard clapping while looking at Mehidy. He doesn't get much animated after getting wickets but this one he has earned it given there is not much happening and on a flat wicket he was able to induce an outside edge and get a proper Test dismissal by getting him caught in slips.

The centurion Mominul Haque will be India's biggest concern as the hosts look to bowl out Bangladesh quickly after lunch.

What a catch!!! Mohammed Siraj you beauty!!! He has taken a blinder to send back Shakib Al Hasan and Bangladesh are in trouble now.

Bangladesh are losing wickets at the other end, however, Mominul Haque has been extremely solid for the visitors. A short ball from Siraj and Mominul swivel-pulled it to deep square leg boundary for a wonderful boundary and Bangladesh have crossed 150.

It was a catch and a half by skipper Rohit Sharma at extra cover as Litton Das tried to hit over the fielder. However, Rohit timed his jump to perfection with one hand in the air and it stuck. Bangladesh have lost five and Mohammed Siraj gets his first.

Mominul Haque has gotten to a very good and spirited half-century. He was troubled at the start but played well to compile a really good innings. He was promoted to No 3 in this Test match and has done well. 

Bangladesh - 138/4 (46 overs)

It was a bumper from Mohammed Siraj in his very first over of the day and Mominul was a bit late on the shot. It hit his thigh pads and straight to the short-leg fielder. India appealed and the umpire gave it out but Mominul went up straight away. The replays showed there was nothing on the ultra edge when the ball passed the bat on the way to the thigh pad and Mominul survives.

Litton Das is up and running with three smashing boundaries in one over of Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah strayed down the line and Litton utilised the loose deliveries to the fullest.

Wow! Jasprit Bumrah is getting some movement suddenly. Mushfiqur Rahim almost chopped it onto the stumps and the first delivery of the over went for a streaky boundary and that movement played with his mind. Rahim misjudged the next delivery on the stumps and Bumrah has cleaned him up. Bangladesh lose their fourth wicket.

Bangladesh - 112/4 (41 overs)

There is a hint of movement but not much and that too on very few deliveries. Should India try and get spinners on or wait for a couple of more overs? There has been nothing much off the surface for the pacers and Bangladesh batters have been getting behind the deliveries solidly.

The match has resumed for the first time since Day 1 and India will be aiming for quick wickets in Kanpur while Bangladesh look to close out any possibility of a result.

Akash Deep began the wickets procession for Bangladesh after the openers Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan negotiated the first spells of both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Akash accounted for both the openers before R Ashwin got the big wicket of skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto. Mominul Haque, the former Test captain, is unbeaten on 40 and Mushfiqur Rahim started well. 

Bangladesh - 107/3 (35 overs)

Effectively it's the second day of the Test match with two days being washed out. The first hour might have a little help for the seamers, which will be the period the Bangladesh batters will have to be careful. However, with the sun baking down, the pitch will get drier and it will be good for batting not just on Day 4 but on the final day as well with no rain forecast as of now.

The play will start at 9:30 AM. However, the first session will be off 135 minutes till 11:45 AM. There will be lunch till 12:25 PM before another session of play of 135 minutes. The tea will be taken at 2:40 PM and the final session is scheduled for 3-5 PM, with an extension of half an hour allowed since 98 overs are targeted to be bowled on Day 4.

Even the first innings hasn't been completed. So first India have to come and take the remaining seven wickets of Bangladesh's innings and then try to bat once and bat fast in order to take a lead and hopefully leave enough for Bangladesh to chase. These are all wet dreams but the first major aim for the Indian team will be to trigger a Bangladesh collapse in the morning session with the match set to begin at 9:30 AM IST.

Finally, we can use words such as sunny and bright as far as Kanpur is concerned and there is every chance that the play might start on time. Bangladesh have already started warming up while Indian team is setting up its stuff for the warm-ups. Two full days of play have been lost to rain, a wet outfield and poor drainage facilities in Kanpur. Only a miracle can save from this Test match ending in a draw and we stay in hope.
