    India win by HUGE margin

It's all done. India have beaten Australia by a big margin of an inning and 132 runs. To much of a shock, India took all ten wickets in just one session. This is not what we know Australia for. They were completely outclassed in every department. Right from the first innings, they were hardly in the game. India got them for 177 in the first innings and scored a massive 400, to take a 223 lead. Then the bowlers enjoyed the party as Ashwin led them well. India go 1-0 up in the series. Australia will have a lot of work to do and lift their spirits from here for the next match, while India would just want to continue the good work. We now head to Delhi for the second test, which starts on 17th February. It was a pleasure bringing this match to you. I Varun Malik sign off, see you next time!

    Ashwin takes five-fer

Ravi Ashwin has got yet another one as Alex Carey has got out on the reverse sweep. This was on good length as it did not spin and went with the angle probably. Carey was wanting to sweep and reverse sweep everything but not this time. This hit him on the pad and even though he took a review, it did not save him. Australia 6 down and Ashwin with a five-fer.

    Ashwin putting a show

It's looking like a story of Ashwin vs Aussie batters filled with LBW decisions and reviews. This was another LBW as Ashwin outclass Handscomb from round the wicket. The batter presses forward but gets beaten by the turn. This was given not out but India reviewed and it was three reds again as Australia lose their half side.

  • 1:16 PM (IST) Posted by Varun Malik

    Australia in mess

Ravi Ashwin is ensuring Australia walks with humiliation as they are 42/4 at the moment. Yet another LBW as the batters are not able to pick the line and length with some spin on offer. Renshaw gets trapped in front as the umpire gave him out. Australia take review again and all three reds come out and the Aussies lose their review as well. Ashwin gets his 3rd wicket.

    Ashwin sends Khawaja back

Ashwin has got the first wicket in the form of Usman Khawaja. This was flighted and fuller around off as it spun sharply leaving the left-hander. Khawaja wanted to drive but got a bit outside edge which was grabbed by Kohli at slips. Great start for India.

    Ashwin comes in

Interesting but not a surprising move. Ashwin has come to bowl the second over itself in front of two left-handers.

India bowled out, Axar misses 100

India are bowled out for a huge 400-run total. This was tremendous stuff from India. 79 runs on Day 3 as Lunch has been taken. India lost 3 wickets but there was plenty to cheer for the Indians. Jadeja was done early, but Shami and Axar kept the scoreboard ticking. Shami's 37 was really crucial and Axar shone with an 84-run knock. He is disappointed but this 84 is no less than a 100.  So India have 223 runs in their bag and Australia will not want to judge the pitch wrong again. There is more turn than in previous days now and they have a giant task ahead of them if they have to get back in this match. Australia should get something around 350 to compete, but getting into a lead is itself a very difficult task on a pitch right now. Meanwhile, India have a chance of not batting again by getting Aussies inside 223, which is very likely. Back with the 2nd session.
