    End of Day 1

That's the end of Day 1 in the third test. Australia's day from any and every angle you look from. Indian batters were outdone by some good bowling and a few mistakes at 109. Meanwhile, Australians probably saw how the pitch is behaving and how they should bat and played a brilliant inning on Day 1. They are at 156/4 after Jadeja found some late success and lead by 47. Green and Handscomb are batting and there is some more batting to come. India would need some quick wickets tomorrow unless Australia will take a huge lead. It was a pleasure bringing this opening day action to you. Hope you enjoyed, I Varun Malik, along with Jishu Bhattacharya, sign off. See you tomorrow.

Jadeja has now got the Australian captain caught behind. This is another big wicket. Pitched on fuller and turned away a bit as Smith got a tickle and Bharat this time holds on a fine reflex catch. Aussies are 4 down and India are finally getting some wickets.

    India lose all reviews

India have all their reviews now as India wanted this appeal against Smith to go upstairs on Jadeja's bowling. It was not a good review. Ball was impacting outside the leg as it angled down the leg.

    Jadeja gets Khawaja's wicket

Another wicket and this one is the big one of half-centurion Khawaja. Jadeja pitched this on fuller length as Khawaja slog-swept but probably did not find the sweet spot. Gill standing at deep mid-wicket takes a fine diving catch to bring Australia 3 down. Can India find a few more here?

    Jadeja cleans up Labuschagne

India have finally found a breakthrough as Jadeja has cleaned up Labuschagne. Pitched around off on a good length and stayed low. Labuschagne had no foot movement as the ball piecered his defence to disturb the timber. A much needed wicket for India as this was a 96-run stand.

    Khawaja brings up fifty

Khawaja has brought up a brilliant fifty here. It's not looking that batting was as difficult as we saw in the Indian innings. Australia have also gone past 100 and are in driver's seat

    Australia slowly batting India out

On a pitch that looked like a deadly turning track, Australia have cruised smoothly and have  waited patiently for the bad balls to be bowled. They haven't overdone the sweep shots and their batters have looked pretty solid and comfortable

    Australia dominating India

This has been some pergormance from the Australian cricket team at the Holkar Stadium today. It is safe to say that they have outplayed India in all departments of the game and are comfortably placed in the driving seat

Things going pretty wrong for India

As far as India are concerned, things are not going as planned. Khwaja and Labuschagne have been solid with their defence and technique and they are not looking in any kind of trouble. Danger signs for Rohit and his team

  • 1:39 PM (IST) Posted by Jishu Bhattacharya

India in dire need of wickets

India need wickets, Labuschagne and Khwaja are looking solidand they might end up stitching a good partnership over here. India need to get one of them out pretty soon and not to forget that Steve Smith is to follow next.

    India land first blow

India have the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel in their wings and seeing the amount of turn that the pitch has to offer, Australia might be in trouble. Jadeja has landed the first puch and has dismissed Head

    Australia trail by 109

India would have fancied their chances when Umesh Yadav was batting but Australia held on their nerves, got Umesh and Siraj very cheaply. India end their innings on 109 runs. Now it all depends on Australia and how they bat

  • 12:36 PM (IST) Posted by Jishu Bhattacharya

    India go past 100 runs

India have finally crossed the 100 run mark. After Ashwin's dismissal, Umesh Yadav has started to attack the Aussies and he is dealing in boundaries.

    Ashwin departs

Aussies have finally managed to send Ashwin back to the dressing room. Ashwin and Axar wanted to steer India to a respectable total but Kuhnemann has dismissed Ashwin. Pretty interesting to see India's tactics from here

    2nd session underway

India have been rattled and their batting has been tested today. The conditions that were meant to test the Aussies have suddenly started to challenge the Indian batters and they were almost nundled up in the first innings. They managed to survive somehow and now the onus falls upon Ashwin and Axar to help India register a respectable total

  • 11:33 AM (IST) Posted by Jishu Bhattacharya

    Bharat departs

Unbelievable scenes, absolutely stellar from Australia. India have continued to sink deeper and deeper. KS Bharat showed promise but he too fell prey to Australia's pin wizardry. India are 7 wickets down as of now

  • 11:17 AM (IST) Posted by Jishu Bhattacharya

Kohli departs and it is Murphy yet again

The Indian cricket team is stunned and it looks as if their plan has backfired. Murphy has got Virat another time. This is a big one. He was playing well and picking the line and lengths well but not this time. this was around off stump and came back in as Kohli could not hit with his bat. The ball hit the pads and it's gone. India are 6 down.

  • 10:51 AM (IST) Posted by Jishu Bhattacharya

Kohli trying to bail India out

The Aussies hve takem India by the scruff of the neck. India are 5 wickets down and are in deep trouble, but Virat Kohli is still standing strong and is trying to get valuable runs for India

    50 up for India

India have labored past 50 with that four from Kohli. This also stayed low on his legs as Kohli managed to some bat to find a four at fine leg.

    Jadeja, Iyer departs

Good morning if you are joining us late. You have missed so much action. India are 5 down without getting to 50 as Jadeja and Shreyas Iyer are now gone. Jadeja survived an LBW appeal and then gifted his wicket to the cover fielder. Iyer wanted to cut the good length ball and got an under edge to get bowled. Ball is doing much but this is poor batting as well.

  • 10:16 AM (IST) Posted by Jishu Bhattacharya

    Pujara cleaned up

And this is happening pretty quickly at the moment. Lyon has now got the wall of the Indian team- Pujara. That was pitched outside off, spun a long way in, and stayed low as it hit the stumps. India in trouble and Jadeja now comes in.

  • 10:11 AM (IST) Posted by Jishu Bhattacharya

    Gill gone

And Gill has gone as well. This is brilliant from Kuhnemann. Pitched around off, turned away as it found a edge of Gill's bat and Smith takes an easy one at slips. The ball is doing something here even in the first hour.

  • 10:03 AM (IST) Posted by Jishu Bhattacharya

    Rohit Sharma falls

Kuhnemann weaves his magic with spin. He troubled Rohit Sharma who then decided to come down the wicket to get to the pitch of the delivery. Sharma missed the delivery completely and the rest of the work was done by Alex Carey

  • 10:00 AM (IST) Posted by Jishu Bhattacharya

    Spin introduced

There is turn in this wickets, have no doubts about it. Australia have introduced Kuhnemann into the attack and he has looked good so far. Unlike Delhi and Nagpur, the pitch at Indore has ample amount of bounce along with spin

  • 9:49 AM (IST) Posted by Jishu Bhattacharya

    It is Starc vs Sharma

Mitchell Starc who is coming back from a finer injury has been absolutely spot on. He had Rohit Sharma twice in an over but Australia did not opt for a DRS. Plenty of problems for Rohit against Starc

    KL Rahul rested

The Indian team has finally taken the call and has rested KL Rahul. Shubman Gill comes in and he will open the batting for team India

  • 8:44 AM (IST) Posted by Jishu Bhattacharya

    We are underway

Feels like a really long back after the Delhi Test match. A lot happened after the second Test match that was played in Delhi. Pat Cummins and David Warner have flown back to Australia. Cummins is attending his ailing mother, whereas David Warner has sustained a dangerous blow to his elbow and has been ruled out. Australia are still sweating on Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green's fitness and they certainly need to step up considering how the situation is for the Aussies. Smith will operate as the stand-in skipper for Australia. India on the other hand a massive call to take. KL Rahul has been receiving a lot of flak for his dismal performances and it will be interesting to see if Shubman Gill gets a nod to open the innings ahead of Rahul.
