Led by Rohit Sharma's pyrotechnics and Axar Patel's magical spell, India thrashed Australia by six wickets to win the 2nd T20I and level the series 1-1.

India won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, Australia got off to a decent start before Axar wreaked havoc and sent Green, Maxwell, and Tim David packing. Finch though, held one end up for some part of the game and scored a quick-fire 31 off 15 deliveries.

Matthew Wade, much like the last T20I, turned out to be the game changer for Australia and sent the bowlers flying, hitting 43 off 20 deliveries. The kangaroos ultimately finished with 90 runs on the board.

Chasing 91, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul got India off to a brilliant start, smacking 20 off the very first over. KL, though, fell soon after and Kohli walked in, hit some lusty blows before falling to Zampa, who also dismissed Suryakumar Yadav on the very next ball.

Hardik then joined Rohit for a brief stay at the crease before falling in the penultimate over to Pat Cummins. India eventually needed 9 runs off the last over, and Karthik finished it inside 2 deliveries, hitting a six and boundary on consecutive balls to help the team win the match by 6 wickets.

The caravan now moves onto Hyderabad for the 3rd and final T20I.
