IND vs AUS 1st Test Cricket Match Highlights Day 1: India 77/1 at Stumps

India were going pretty strong with the bat, but Australia have struck. KL Rahul has fallen prey to Todd Murphy

India have struck the right form early on in this series. The Indian spinners were absolutely accurate with the ball in their hands and now with the bat both Rohit and Rahul have been solid. India are well on their course to register a huge total.

Captain Rohit Sharma is leading India and the team is closing in on fifty. Sharma is the main scorer, while Rahul is providing fine assistance.

India are going well in their first innings as Sharma has given an expressive start to the hosts. Lyon has been brought early, but the openers are negotiating him well.

The skipper of the Indian team, Rohit Sharma has started on a positive note. Sharma hit Pat Cummins for 13 runs in his first over.

Australia all-out for 177 runs. India have been extremely accurate with the ball in their hands and they have restricted the visitors under 200.

India have turned it completely around in the second session of Day 1 and the credit for it goes to Ravindra Jadeja. The former Aussie captain fought valiantly and countered everything that was thrown at him, but Jadeja finally dismissed him with a peach of a delivery

The Aussies are 4 wickets down, but looking at how the track has been, it is safe to say that the match is evenly poised. Smith has been batting well and he has guided Australia past the 100 runs mark

Just as one would have expected, Steve Smith has continued to bat for Australia. He is no hurry as far as the runs are concerned. Smith is an experienced campaigner and he knows how important runs are on this wicket

When things were getting out of hands, Ravindra Jadeja came and turned the tides in the favour of his team. Jadeja has dismissed Labuschagne and Renshaw in two consecutive deliveries.

India are in dire need of wickets and they have opted to go with pace. The Aussies batters will have a feeling of respite. The wicket is not that easy to bat on and it will not get any better

The Nagpur pitch has mostly stayed on the lower side and it was expected. Australia prepared themselves pretty well for spin, but it was Shami and Siraj's pace that troubled them to no end. Australia are 76/2 at lunch. India have to restrict the Aussies to give themselves a decent chance

The first session on the first day of the first Test match has been contested evenly. India started off with a flyer as they dismissed Aussie openers Khwaja and Warner quickly, but after that it was the Smith and Labuschagne show all along.

Australia have recovered decently from the early blows of Khwaja and Smith. They had high expectations from Smith and Labuschagne and it looks like as if they are living upto it. Both of them have been watchful and have hardly made any mistakes

The duo of Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne are starting to hurt India. Ther have a stitched a 50-run partnership and they look in no hurry to score runs. India will have to break this partnership.

Smith has been extremely cautious and has been toiling hard. The bounce has been pretty low and it is testing Smith. Smith tried to hit Axar through the covers but edged it to Virat Kohli who eventually ended up missing the catch. How much will it hurt India?

The ball has been keeping low at Nagpur. It is the first session of the first day and this is when you expect the pitch to be at it's best. On the contrary to this, the ball hasn't bounced enough. This might be a problem for India as they will have to bat in the 4th innings

Rohit Sharma has decided to attack the Aussies. The Indian skipper knows that the duo of Smith and Labuschagne can be dangerous. Axar and Jadeja have been introduced

The Aussies have been jolted by Shami and Siraj. They had prepared for spin but it is express pace that troubled them. Smith and Labuschagne are in early and no better time for them to execute their skills with the bat

Shami has followed Siraj's act. After Usman Khwaja departed, Shami made sure that he piles on the pain on Aussies as he sends Warner back. Australia are two down. Smith and Labuschagne have to toil hard and bail Australia out

Beaten by pace, beaten by bounce, Usman Khwaja is gone for all money. Siraj trapped Khwaja but was given not out by umpire Nitin Menon. India opted for the DRS and to Australia's misfortune, Khwaja adjudged LBW

Asutralian openers Usman Khwaja and David Warner open for Australia. There is a decent bounce on offer in Nagpur and as the match goes on, it will be extremely challenging for the batters to survive and score runs

India are the defending champions and they also have their sights set on the WTC (World Test Championship) Final that will be played in June. Last time India played a Test series against Australia, they won the series by a margin of 2-1.

It's official now, India are going in with two debutants, KS Bharat and Suryakumar Yadav will make their Test debuts for India in the first match of this historic Test series.

While there is no indication from the Indian camp, it is speculated that Suryakumar Yadav and KS Bharat will be handed their Test caps. 

As things stand, we are just an hour away from the toss, while 90 minutes away from the action as both the teams have taken the field before the high-voltage clash.
