Dubi, Apr 19: The International Cricket Council's executive board will reconsider the lineup for the 2015 World Cup following protests at the exclusion of second-tier teams.

During the recent World Cup on the subcontinent, the ICC decided to reduce the number of teams for 2015 from 14 to the 10 full member nations, cutting out Associate members such as Ireland, Kenya, the Netherlands and Canada.

This year's tournament, which was won by co-host India, took 43 days to complete, prompting criticism that it was too long.

ICC President Sharad Pawar has asked for a review of the lineup after hearing from several Associate nations.

The ICC board will debate the decision in June at its annual conference in Hong Kong. AP
