Ahmedabad, Nov 14: England captain Alastair Cook says injured pace bowler Steve Finn will miss the first test against India beginning on Thursday but he's happy with the way his other fast bowlers have shaped up in practice games.
Cook says on Wednesday that Finn had made "fantastic progress" after injuring his thigh in the first tour game against India A at Mumbai but it would be "too big a risk" to go into a test with a hurt bowler.
Tim Bresnan and Stuart Meaker bowled very well in the practice games, Cook says, and it's a tough call in deciding the final 11 as England looks to win its first test series in India in 28 years.
