The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed its anguish over a bio-secure bubble breach during a practice session of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) and is investigating how an outsider gained entry into the Shere Bangla National Stadium indoor facilities here.

The incident reportedly occurred during the Mohammedan Sporting Club's practice session on Friday, when skipper Shakib Al Hasan was having a batting session.

The identity of the person remains unknown.

The DPL commenced on May 31, with match venues and four team hotels becoming a part of the BCB's bio-secure environment.

"We are disappointed to note this incident. Both the CCDM (Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis) and the BCB have taken this very seriously. The health and safety of our teams, players, and officials are most important to us," CCDM chairman Kazi Inam Ahmed was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.com.

"We have invested a significant amount of finances and efforts to make sure the BSE (bio-security environment) protocols are in place including the best possible accommodation and logistics. This incident is being looked into and necessary actions and further precautionary measures will be taken," he added.

As per the BCB rules and regulations for the tournament, fines, suspension or even point deductions are an option if a violation is established.
