Despite losses and controversies Dhoni pushes Virat to 2nd slot in brand value

New Delhi: If you think loss in the World T20 final and controversies surrounding IPL spot fixing have affected the brand value of Team India captain MS Dhoni, think again. Dhoni has signed a contract worth 13 crore with a company and has become the most expensive Indian cricketer.Off late Virat Kohli, deputy of Dhoni, has been in a cracking form and had become the most sought after Indian cricketer in ad world but his Dhoni once again proved he is the Guru.According to “Hindustan Times” the brand value of Indian captain has increased many fold and his earning has gone up by 60%.Till 2013 Dhoni used to charge 8 crore per brand. Later Kohli became the most expensive Indian cricketer by signing 10 crore deal with adidas.The interestingly Team India led by Dhoni has not been performing well. In the last few months barring five consecutive wins in the world T20, India have been at the receiving end. Apart from losses, Dhoni is also in the middle of controversies surrounding IPL where he leads Chennai Super Kings, owned by Srinivasan whom apex court asked recently to step down for fair probe in to match fixing. Dhoni still commands highest price and has 21 brands. The main reason for Dhoni commanding the good price is his success in all format of the game. He has been consistent with his batting also.
