Deccan Chargers beat Delhi Daredevils by 11 runs in an IPL match in New Delhi on Sunday night.
Deccan Chargers made 145 for 7 in 20 overs (Andrew Symonds 54; Umesh Yadav 2/24, Ashish Nehra 2/32).
In reply, Delhi Daredevils could manage only 134 for 7 in 20 overs (Paul Collingwood 51 not out; Pragyan Ojha 2/16).
Delhi Daredevils got off to a poor start in their run chase losing David Warner, Virender Sehwag and Tillakaratne Dilshan inside four overs.
Rohit Sharma took a juggling catch to dismiss Warner (5) off Mitchell Marsh in the second over.
In the next over, Rohit took another superb catch diving to his right at first slip to get rid of Sehwag (8).
Harmeet Singh increased Delhi's misery in the next over by trapping Dilshan (11) plumb in front of the wicket.
Pragyan Ojha then struck in his first over when Rohit took another diving catch at mid-wicket to send Delhi captain Gautam Gambhir (4) back to the pavilion.
Earlier, Amit Mishra and Umesh Yadav took 2 wickets each as Delhi restricted Deccan to 145/7.
Apart from Andrew Symonds (54), none of the Deccan Chargers batsmen could convert their starts into big scores.
Mishra had Andrew Symonds (54) caught by Mithun Manhas at long-off to reduce Deccan Chargers to 116/5.
Symonds hit 5 sixes and 3 fours in his knock that came off 35 balls.
Symonds smashed his fifth IPL half-century off 26 balls soon after Deccan crossed the 100-run mark.
Mithun Manhas ran out Monish Mishra (25) with a direct hit to leave Deccan struggling at 66/4.
Umesh Yadav had Rohit Sharma (11) caught behind by Dinesh Karthik to reduce Deccan to 47/3.
Ashish Nehra dismissed Adam Gilchrist (10) in his first over and Umesh Yadav clean bowled Tirumalsetti Suman (5) on his first ball as Deccan Chargers lost 2 early wickets
after Gilchrist won the toss and elected to bat.
Deccan have made two changes to their side. Chaminda Vaas, after his brilliiant outburst in the initial phase of the tournament and being dropped later on, makes his way
back for this game in place of Ryan Harris. Harmeet Singh comes in place of RP Singh. No changes to the Delhi side.
