DC vs MI, IPL 2024 Highlights: Bowlers keep calm after Fraser-McGurk's blast as Delhi win by 10 runs

Delhi Capitals, who won only one game in their first five, have won four in their last five and have found themselves on some sort of a run. Delhi are now in fifth place with 10 points and are now ahead of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on the points table while Mumbai Indians have suffered their sixth loss.

A few tricky moments in the last couple of overs but the largely Indian pace attack has done well for the Delhi Capitals to keep their calm and composure to defend a huge score of 257 runs. 

Rasikh Salam has gotten his third wicket now and the Delhi Capitals have inched one step closer to their fifth victory in the tournament.

And that's a body blow to MI at this point. Tim David has departed after scoring two sixes and a four against Mukesh. MI need 48 from 14 balls

This is looking gone now. They need 64 from 18 balls. Rasikh was good in his third over and gave only seven runs in the previous over. This makes it much more taller now

Tilak Varma gets to his fifty in 25 balls with a four. Mumbai might be needing something way too much but this fifty has been one to cherish. Required rate is over 17

MI need runs at a whopping rate of over 17. This game looks gone. But we have seen crazy things happening in IPL. Will we see another today?

And DC can now see the victory line as Hardik, who was scoring well, has departed. The impact sub Rasikh Salam has done the trick. He gets Nehal Wadhera too and Mumbai now sink way further into the hole.

This is still alive but only just. Hardik and Tilak are keeping MI in the game but they need 138 off 54 balls now

Khaleel Ahmed just controlled his line and length enough for Suryakumar Yadav to go into his shot early and hand a straight catch to the short cover fielder. MI have lost three wickets in the powerplay.

Mumbai Indians have lost wickets of both their openers as after Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar has struck for the Delhi Capitals as he has dismissed Ishan Kishan off the first delivery of his spell. In a tall chase of 258, both Rohit and Kishan have been dismissed inside the powerplay.

Khaleel Ahmed sent back the former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma for just 8 as Delhi Capitals after a couple of overs have gotten the big breakthrough. Mumbai Indians need Suryakumar Yadav to go big to have any chance of chasing 258.

Delhi Capitals have smashed their highest score in the IPL as they have jumped on the 250 bandwagon as well, smashing 257 on the back of innings from Jake Fraser-McGurk, Tristan Stubbs and Shai Hope. 257 is also the joint-9th highest score in IPL history.

Jasprit Bumrah after being hit by Rishabh Pant for a six in his last over, has dismissed the Delhi Capitals skipper and Delhi have lost their fourth wicket.

Tristan Stubbs after a slow start has recovered well and that 26 runs off Luke Wood's over helped him notch up a 50-run stand with skipper Rishabh Pant.

Shai Hope recovered outstandingly well to smash 41 off just 17 balls as he helped Delhi recover well to the momentum they were hitting in in the first 6-7 overs. Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs will be hoping to take Delhi's score in excess of 250.

Mohammad Nabi has struck for the Mumbai Indians as the visitors have dismissed both the openers in quick succession and now have the opportunity to wrestle the momentum back after Delhi's mind-numbing start.

Piyush Chawla equals Dwayne Bravo taking his 183rd scalp of the IPL in the form of Jake Fraser-McGurk as the senior leggie broke the massive opening partnership for the Delhi Capitals. Fraser-McGurk missed out on a well-deserved century but still 27-ball 84 ensured that Delhi are on course of a big total.

Unstoppable, gutsy, aggressive and full of mad intent, that's how Jake Fraser-McGurk can be described. Slams another 15-ball fifty, his second in the same number of deliveries and overall third in the season and has gotten Delhi off to a flying start.

Jake Fraser-McGurk seems to be a firecracker, which doesn't need to be lit and its usual mode is being on fire. The 22-year-old bazooka from Australia went off yet again as he smacked Luke Wood for 19 runs in the first over followed by a first-ball six off Jasprit Bumrah. Some batting and guts.

Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field first given the conditions at the Arun Jaitley Stadium - small ground, flat pitch - saying that he hoped his side can chase and stay alive in the tournament.

59m boundary on one side, 64m on the other and 73m straighter one. It is a small ground but the heat will be a major factor today. There is not much grass and hence the spinners will get some purchase which could be an advantage for the Delhi Capitals given the quality of spin bowling options while seamers could struggle. 

The Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi has hosted two games this season with 200-plus totals. Is there another one in store for the Delhites?

Despite all the injury concerns and issues regarding players' form and balance, the Capitals have done well in the last few games and have the edge over the Mumbai Indians. The five-time champions may be stronger on the paper but the performances on the field have been disappointing. Mumbai broke their losing streak in the tournament with a win against Delhi, will that be the case again?
