Australia, Jul 1: Oft-injured fast bowler Pat Cummins has an abdominal muscle strain and will leave Australia's one-day tour of England to return home for treatment.
Cricket Australia said in a statement Sunday that Cummins sustained a left-side muscle strain during the first one-day international against England at Lord's on Friday, a 15-run loss to the home side.
Australian team doctor John Orchard said Cummins “was sore after the game and was scanned, the results of which have revealed a medium grade side-strain. This will keep him out of the remainder of the England tour.”
A heel injury had kept 19-year-old Cummins out of international cricket for six months since his test debut against South Africa in November.
He will not be replaced for the remaining four matches of the tour.
