New Delhi, Sep 23: Sachin Tendulkar today declined to comment on controversial Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar's remark that he and team-mate Rahul Dravid did not have the ability to finish matches.
“It is below my dignity to react to Shoaib's comment,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying by television channels.
However, the channels did not show any visuals to substantiate Tendulkar's reaction.
Tendulkar also did not come up with any reaction on his twitter account regarding Akhtar's observation in his just published autobiography, “Controversially Yours”, which created a flutter in the cricketing world.
In the book, Akhtar has claimed that Tendulkar and Dravid, who have scored 56,000 between them in Tests and ODIs, lack the ability to finish matches.
Akhtar, who retired from international cricket during the World Cup this year, referred to India's tour of Pakistan in 2006 and said that his team could have faced a humbling defeat but for the fact that they managed to rein in Tendulkar. PTI
