Chittagong, Bangladesh: Imrul Kayes and Shamsur Rahman hit their maiden centuries to lift Bangladesh to 409-8 at stumps on the third day of the second test against Sri Lanka on Thursday.
Shakib Al Hasan contributed 50 while Nasir Hossain made 42.
The hosts are trailing by 178 runs after Sri Lanka amassed 587 in its first innings.
After Bangladesh avoided the follow-on, Ajantha Mendis struck by claiming Nasir and Sohag Gazi in consecutive deliveries.
Mahmudullah and Al-Amin Hossain managed to see out the day and they will resume the batting on day four with 30 and 3 respectively.
Mendis ended the day with 4-84 while Dilruwan Perera claimed 3-114.
