Chittagong, Bangladesh: Mominul Haque scored 71 as a defiant Bangladesh stymied Sri Lanka's push for victory on the final day of the second test, reaching 204-3 at tea on Saturday.

Sri Lanka took only one wicket in the middle session, with Imrul Kayes out lbw to Dilruwan Perera for 25.

Mominul shared a 70-run stand with Kayes, and then added a further 53 unbeaten with Shakib Al Hasan, who was on 13 at tea.

Perera had figures of 2-36 while Kithuruwan Vithanage had 1-56.

On a testing fifth-day pitch, Mominul prospered with a combination of controlled aggression and determination. Sri Lanka's bowlers tested his skill peppering a barrage of bouncers, some of which struck his body.

Mominul survived a chance when 64. A flighted delivery off Vithanage got extra bounce due from the rough and took the outside edge of Mominul's bat, but it was dropped at slip.

Sri Lanka set a huge target of 467, having accumulated two big scores thanks chiefly to Kumar Sangakkara, who became only the second man in test history to score a triple-century and a century in the same game.
