Chittagong: Maverick all-rounder Shakib al Hasan and Bangladesh ODi skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza entered the 200-wicket club after the home side inflicted a crushing defeat on South Africa at the Zahur Ahmed Choudhury Stadium here on Wednesday.
Shakib became the second Bangladesh bowler after Abdur Razzak to bag 200 ODI wickets, when he dismissed Faf du Plessis and Hashim Amla in the 8th and 14th overs.
On the other hand, Mashrafe emerged as the third Bangladesh bowler to reach the 200-wicket club after packing off David Miller in the 30th over.
Shakib became the fastest cricketer to reach the 4000-run mark and 200-wicket club in ODIs. Six cricketers have achieved this double before Shakib.
Soumya Sarkar, who hit 90 runs yesterday, joined the Top 15 batsmen of the world after playing 16 ODIs only. Sarkar was adjudged the player of the match yesterday and also the man of the series for his 205 runs in three ODIs against South Africa.
