Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Bangladesh Cricket Board has promised to enhance security around the Pakistan team for the Asia Cup after the Pakistan Cricket Board has expressed its security concerns.
The PCB's security reservations for the five-nation event in March followed the execution of an Islamist opposition leader in Bangladesh last month and the recent violent national elections.
The officials of both boards met on the sidelines of ICC executive board's meeting in Dubai on Thursday.
BCB's acting chief executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said the PCB's request for strengthened security measures "will be incorporated in our security plan."
The PCB will also send a security representative to Bangladesh to attend the ICC security meeting on Jan. 20.
