Harare, Jun 22: Bangladesh beat South Africa by three wickets with one ball to spare in the Twenty20 tri-series on Friday, leaving the Proteas bottom of the table.
Left-arm spinner Elias Sunny took 2-22 as Bangladesh stifled the South Africans, who struggled to 129-7 in 20 overs at Harare Sports Club. Justin Ontong was the only significant contributor with 41 from 36 balls.
Mohammad Ashraful made a run-a-ball 40 and Ziaur Rahman was 27 not out to take Bangladesh to 132-7 for its second win in four games.
South Africa's Chris Morris took a wicket and conceded one run from the first four deliveries of a dramatic final over. But Rahman hit a boundary on the fifth ball to clinch victory.
Host Zimbabwe leads the standings with two wins from three games.
