PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa: South Africa pressed home its big advantage over Australia as Hashim Amla made 93 not out after earlier dislocating his finger and the hosts forged 369 runs ahead on the third day of the second test on Saturday.

With a 177-run lead from the first innings, South Africa shrugged off the loss of four second-innings wickets to reach 192-4 at stumps.

Amla backed up a bowling attack that took six Australian wickets in just over a session at the start of the day to roll the tourists out for 246 in reply to South Africa's 423.

Seamers Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander ended with three wickets each and South Africa was in control from the time the dangerous David Warner edged behind for 70 in the day's fifth over.
