Hobart, Australia: Cameron White scored 75 runs from 43 balls and took man-of-the match honors Wednesday as Australia beat England by 13 runs in the first of three Twenty20 matches.
White led Australia to 213-4 - hitting six boundaries and four sixes, after the home side won the toss and elected to bat first.
Bowlers Nathan Coulter-Nile (4-30) and Moises Henriques (2-36) then restricted England to 200-9 in its 20 overs, with Ravi Bopara's 65 runs from 27 balls the highlight of the visitors' innings.
The teams will play T20s on Friday in Melbourne and Sunday in Sydney to conclude England's Ashes tour.
Australia regained the Ashes with a 5-0 scoreline in the Test series and took the one-day internationals 4-1.
