London: Australia left arm medium fast bowler Mitchell Starc today is a frustrated man and the reason is he has been in and out of the Australian side over the past few months. Even during the current Ashes series being played in England, he has not been the favorite of his captain Michael Clarke.
Starc played first Test but was left out of the second at Lord's before returning for the third at Old Trafford, only to warm the bench yet again at Durham.
Inconsistent selection in the playing eleven has not only affected his rhythm but left him frustrated too.
According the media reports Starc said ''Yeah, I guess it would be nice to get a few games back to back and get that rhythm. But to have a chance at that consistency that everyone talks about - 'you've got to be more consistent' - well, it's a bit hard when you play one game and you're dropped."
Former players and the media have often criticised Australia's player rotation policy.
Starc has taken eight wickets in two matches at 27.12 in the Ashes series so far.
Starc has bowled in Australia's practice match against the England Lions in Northampton and hopes to return for the final Test at The Oval on Wednesday .
