Sydney: Mitchell Starc will replace injured allrounder Mitchell Johnson in the only change to Australia's lineup for the fourth cricket test against India starting at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
Captain Steve Smith confirmed Australia's match XI Monday, saying Johnson has a slight hamstring strain and probably would have been considered fit to play if Australia hadn't already clinched the four-match series. Australia won the first two tests and the teams drew the third.
Smith said the team wants to ensure Johnson is fully recovered and fresh for next month's cricket World Cup. He said, "We don't want to risk him."
Starc won the final spot in the Australia lineup over Peter Siddle and Ashton Agar. Shane Watson is also expected to be healthy again after a recent illness.
Australia XI: David Warner, Chris Rogers, Shane Watson, Steven Smith, Shaun Marsh, Joe Burns, Brad Haddin, Ryan Harris, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood.
