Manchester, Jul 31: England batsman Kevin Pietersen looks to have won his fitness battle ahead of the third and potentially series-clinching Ashes test against Australia at Old Trafford.
Pietersen has been a doubt for the match after hurting his left calf in the second test at Lord's.
But England captain Alastair Cook says Wednesday that Pietersen “has got through training the last two days and done everything asked of him.”
Cook says a decision will be made on Pietersen on the morning of the match, which starts Thursday in Manchester.
England is 2-0 ahead in the five-match series.
