Tasmania: England opener and Ashes hero Joe Root has come down heavily  at Shane Warne who said that Root Should not open the inning as he won't be able to face the pave battery of Australia in upcoming Ashes series.

22-year-old Root has provided the perfect response to Warne's claim that he doesn't have the technique to be a Test opener in Australia. “I don't think Shane Warne's ever said a nice word about an England touring team so I think it would be wrong for me to listen to everything he says.”

Warne, in an interview said England would be ‘crucifying' him if they carried on with Root as an opener in Brisbane on November 21.

“I don't know why he said that,” added Root. “That's not for me to worry about. It would be wrong for me to look at things like that.

“I can only look to improve my technique and my game. I don't know how things will pan out, but I'll definitely make sure I prepare well going into that first Test.”
