It was in 1990 that India toured England and it was in Manchester that the world for the first time saw  a batting legend showing his signs of batting greatness. Sachin tendulkar scored his first century in test scoring a brilliant 119 not out. India had already won the One day series by a scoreline of 2-0 and were getting to face them in the longer format of the game. It was Graham Gooch's 333 and 123 which guided England to a 247 run win.
