Explosive South Africa batsman David Miller said he was excited to be a part of the World XI squad which will play a three-match T20I series in Pakistan, starting on Wednesday. A World XI led by South Africa's Faf du Plessis arrived in Lahore early on  Monday amid tight security. Players from seven countries - England, Australia, West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and New Zealand - agreed to tour Pakistan, which is organizing the series in a bid to revive international cricket at home.

The aggressive left-hand batsman is excited to perform in the tour which not only enhances his capability as a player but also to be able to be a part of history by helping Pakistan redeem cricket on their home soil.

Miller shared a few notions on his trip to Pakistan and hopes the series will be a huge breakthrough for the host country as no international cricket has been played since 2009 when the Sri Lankan tour bus came under a terrorist attack in Lahore.

Miller has a knack for smashing the ball out of the park as the Indian Premier League has been a stage for the Proteas player to make it big. The former Kings XI Punjab skipper has been branded as a limited-over specialist and certainly glances to shine in one of the biggest platforms where the World XI take on Pakistan.

"I'm really looking forward to it obviously and being in the position that I am in the last few years, I've managed to play around the world in different conditions and been blessed to play in the IPL and this is just an extension of where I'd like to play," Miller said in a video tweeted by the International Cricket Council.

"Pakistan are a formidable team in the world stage and obviously we've yet to play it and for me, it's just an opportunity to stretch my play in different conditions."

"We're going to have to wait and see how successful it's going to be and so far with everything that has taken place, everything that we have been briefed with seems like it's going to be very successful. If it kicks off really well, it will be a huge boost for World cricket and for Pakistan to play in different countries," added Miller.

"It's a massive occasion and I've really been looking forward to something like this in the first steps of moving it forward for Pakistan cricket," concluded Miller.

Miller, who is still waiting for Test call from the Cricket South Africa (CSA), hopes to improve his game in all formats.

The World XI will take on Pakistan in the first T20 match of the three-match tour today in the Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore.
