Team India Test regular Mohammed Shami has come under heavy pressure as the saga continues to enrol between him and his wife Hasin Jahan. The latter has pressed charges against her husband and has alleged her husband of domestic violence and infidelity and now has revealed yet another shocking revelation which she professed that the pacer was involved in match-fixing as well. Shami, whose annual contract was put on hold by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after his wife levelled charges of domestic violence and attempt to murder, took a breath of relief as the board has decided to proceed with the fast bowler's contract.

The 28-year old pacer has been given a Grade 'B' retainership contract by the world's richest cricket board.

Jahan vowed that Shami took money from a Pakistani girl named Alishba, and the amount was delivered to him by a man called Mohammad Bhai, who stays in Manchester, United Kingdom. Who is Mohammed Shami?

Mohammed Shami is an Indian national cricket player who represents Team India in the Test format. He hails from a remote village in Uttar Pradesh and moved to Kolkata after his talent was observed by various pundits of the game. Shami has represented Kolkata in the Ranji Trophy and his outstanding performances with the ball earned him his maiden call from the BCCI to sport the Indian jersey.

Shami has always been an enigmatic and mysterious person on the field as his spells have won him and his country many laurels. The pacer has been a Test regular as his performances with the Red ball have impressed the board in recent times. 

Recently, Shami helped India created history by winning the 3rd Test match at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, a feat which was never achieved by an Indian team on the Proteas soil. His wicket-wicket haul earned him the match ball. 

What is the controversy between Mohammed Shami and Hasin Jahan?

Mohammed Shami's wife Hasin Jahan, who he has been married to since 7 April 2014 has been allegedly by his wife on the account of infidelity and adultery. She has stated that the pacer has been involved in extra-marital affairs and has often beaten her and threatened to kill her. On March 9, an FIR has been registered against Shami and his four other family members in Kolkata's Jadavpur police station under several Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections, including section 498A, which amounts to cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives. She has alleged that Shami has abused her physically and threatened to divorce her. The couple have a three-year-old child named Aaira Shami.

ODI Career - The right arm pacer has always been consistent with his performances and his spells have always bedazzled the batsmen he has faced. The Team India bowler has played 50 matches where he has collected 91 wickets with the best figure of 4/35. The pacer's inclusion in the limited-overs format has reduced after the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah stunned the world with their performances. 

IPL - Shami has played 31 matches so far where he has played for Kolkata Knight Riders and now plays for the Delhi Daredevils. The right-arm pacer was bought for Rs. 3 Crore in the IPL auctions.
