While gearing up for Season 10 of the Indian Premier League (IPL), former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni donned a new hat on Monday.
Adding another feather to his cap, Dhoni was officially appointed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Gulf Oil India, but only for a day.
Dressed in a blue suit and white shirt, Dhoni reached the company’s headquarters in Andheri, Mumbai, on Monday to assume office.
It even took the employees by surprise as it was kept a secret until Dhoni walked into the office, attended meetings and took some important decisions as well.
Dhoni close friend Arun Pandey, who also manages his commercial interests, revealed that Gulf Oil India and Dhoni had been planning this day for a long time and finally were able to execute it.
“As a CEO of the company for the day, Mahi has attended all the special meetings of the company. He will also take quite a few decisions, just like a real CEO,” Pandey was quoted by Sportstar as saying.
“Mahi’s association with the company goes back a long way, and for a long time, he also wanted to understand how a corporate CEO works. He wanted to try this out too,” he added.
Dhoni has been associated with the company since 2011 when he was named the brand ambassador of Gulf Oil India.
Dhoni is now gearing up for the 10th edition of IPL where he will be participating for Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS).
