Team India cricketer Lokesh Rahul shared a memory when he was invited by skipper Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma for a dinner date during India's tour of Australia back in 2014. Rahul spoke about how he was going through a dry spell during his career and how Anushka and Virat comforted them by relating and sharing the same experiences.
"There was one instance after a match at Melbourne where I had a terrible performance. I was miserable and depressed," said KL Rahul, according to IANS.
"Anushka, who noticed this, came up to my room and asked me to accompany her and Virat to their dinner date. The couple talked me through their similar experiences and that helped me understand how to manage these situations better.
"They took immense care of me and ensured I was not alone. They even made sure I spent the new year night with them. They are an amazing couple and have really had a powerful influence on me," said Rahul.
About his rumoured relationship with Munna Michael actress, Nidhhi Agarwal, Rahul denied the facts and said that they are just good friends.
"We have known each other since our college days. We are just good friends and all the rumours are false."
Coming to his cricketing career, the 26-year old batsman is back on track since he made a bold statement with the bat in the recently concluded 11th edition of the Indian Premier League. He was the third highest scorer in the IPL this season as he amassed 659 runs in the 14 matches he played. He scored six half-centuries and a highest of an unbeaten 95.
In the historical one-off Test against Afghanistan, the swashbuckler scored a half-century as well.
The 26-year old will look to maintain his form as he sets his eyes on making a statement in the tour of England, where India are slated to play 3 T20Is and ODIs and a five-match Test series from July.
