Cricket enthusiasts gear up for the edge-of-seat encounters as Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 has reached its business end with table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad facing two-time champions Chennai Super Kings in the Qualifier 1 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Tuesday.
Why IPL Qualifier?
The cash-rich league is set to host two qualifiers, through which two teams will qualify for the final, which will be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on May 27.
IPL Qualifier 1: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Chennai Super Kings
At the playoffs stage of the IPL, top four teams clash in three matches ahead of the season finale. The top two teams vie for a final berth in the Qualifier 1 as the winning team gets direct entry to the final, while the losing team gets another chance when they face the winner of the Eliminator match in the Qualifier 2.
IPL Eliminator: Kolkata Knight Rider vs Rajasthan Royals
Following the Qualifier 1, third and fourth placed teams Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals will clash in the IPL Eliminator at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Wednesday.
IPL Qualifier 2
The winner of the IPL Eliminator match will face the loser of Qualifier 1 between Sunrisers and Chennai Super Kings in the second Qualifier -- also to be held at Kolkata -- which will decide the second entrant of the final.
