Explosive opening batsman Evin Lewis has withdrawn from the limited-overs series against India due to personal reason and it will be Keiron Powell who will come in his place in the ODI squad, whereas Nicholas Pooran has been named as his replacement in the T20I squad.

Lewis' withdrawal comes as a major setback for the Windies as they have already named a squad without their stars such as Chris Gayle and Andre Russel. After already suffering a 0-2 loss in the Test series against India, the Windies will hope to make an impact in he limited-overs format.

Lewis had earlier declined a white-ball contract for the 2018/19 season while the Windies confirmed the list of awardees for men's and women's teams.

Apart from Powell, Obed McCoy will join the ODI squad as Alzarri Joseph's replacement, who is currently recovering and kept under observation until he reaches his full fitness.

McCoy was already a part of the T20I squad against India as he made a big impression in the Caribbean Premier League's Lucia Stars.

Lewis made a fantastic start to his Windies career since making his debut and also fetched a lucrative Indian Premier League contract with Mumbai Indians.

West Indies will play the 1st ODI of the five-match series against India on October 21.
