New Delhi: Team India won the group stage clash against Bangladesh on March 23 by just one run in a nail-biting finish. Thanks to the epic run-out by MS Dhoni that helped India keep their hopes in the World T20 alive.
Now, the famous run-out has been re-enacted by the four cricketer-turned-commentators -- Daren Ganga, Shaun Pollock, Russell Arnold and Nick Knight.
While Daren Ganga and Shaun Pollock played the role of Indian skipper MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya respectively, Russell Arnold and Nick Knight enacted the roles of Bangladesh batsmen Shuvagata Hom and Mustafizur Rahman.
The video has been shared by ICC on their official Twitter account and it clearly shows that every minute detail of that run-out delivery has been taken care of.
Just like Dhoni, Darren Ganga was also keeping the wickets without gloves in his right hand so as save time taking it off in a possible run-out situation.
In their third and crucial match against Bangladesh, India batted first and could make a total of just 146 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Bangladesh seemed to chase the target easily and required 11 runs from the last over to win the match.
After Mustafizur hit two consecutive boundaries off Pandya in the second and third deliveries, the equation came down to 2 runs from 3 balls.
It was then that the real cricket drama began! Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah got caught off two consecutive full-toss deliveries from Hardik Pandya. They now needed two runs from the last ball.
Pandya bowled a wide delivery way outside the off-stump. Hom couldn’t connect the ball and ran for the winning run. Dhoni, instead of throwing the ball, ran to the stumps and dismantled them before Mustafizur could touch the crease with his bat.
