Sakshi Malik became one person everyone spoke about when she handed India its first medal at the recently concluded Rio Olympics. She won a bronze medal in the 58kg category and became the first Indian female wrestler to do so.
On her return to India, the Haryana born girl was greeted with a grand welcome. Loud cheers and a feeling of jubiliation filled the air as Sakshi touched down in the National Capital on August 24. Later, she was appointed as the brand ambassador of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign in her home state.
Interestingly, amidst all this noise, Sakshi reached out to Virender Sehwag asking him to meet her. The picture, which we are sure will soon go viral, points out that the meeting would have been full of laughter and joy.
