New Zealand have so far given India a stiff competition in the limited overs series and have managed to win the respect of their opponents with their impressive on-field performances. But off the field as well, the Black Caps are not shying away in engaging in some friendly banter with their Indian counterparts. Yes, you guessed it right, we are talking about New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor and former India opener Virender Sehwag who have once again made headlines for their friendly banter on the social media platform.
Apart from playing a competitive brand of cricket, the Kiwis are also known for their cheerful attitude and positive mindset which separates them from the rest.
After a decent outing with the bat in the ODI series against India, the 33-year old Taylor didn't feature didn't feature in the playing XI of the first two T20 Internationals. The three-match series is currently tied at 1-1 after the visitors beat India by 40 runs in the second T20I at Rajkot.
Sensing the opportunity, Taylor used the moment to tease his good friend Viru through an Instagram post and gave fans a further glimpse of his humour in "shuddh Hindi".
Taylor found a tailor's shop in Rajkot, took a picture and posted on his Instagram account captioned, "@virendersehwag #Rajkot mein match k baad, #darji (Tailor) Ki dukaan band. Agli silai #Trivandrum mein hogi... Zaroor Aana. #India #IndvNZ."
Impressed by New Zealander's Hindi skills, Sehwag was quick to respond to the call and queried from Unique Identification Authority Of India (UIDAI) that whether the Taylor is eligible for an Aadhaar card.
UIDAI too involved in the conversation and tweeted their side of response on their official Twitter handle stating, "Language no bar. Resident status is what matters."
Earlier, after the first ODI of the three-match-series which India won 2-1, Sehwag started the banter by tweeting, “Well played @RossLTaylor Darji ji . Great effort after handling the pressure of Diwali orders . #indvsnz” to which Taylor quipped, “Thanks, @virendersehwag bhai agli Baar Apna order time pe Bhej dena so Mai Apko agli Diwali ke pehle deliver kardunga ….happy Diwali”.
The third and final match of three-match T20I series will be played in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
