As Virat Kohli's record-shattering juggernaut proceeds, former India captain Sourav Ganguly has claimed that there's nothing impossible for the captain to achieve as he is armed with such an impressive form. Comparing Kohli with the legends Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar, Ganguly said the current showstopper acts as an inspiration to his teammates.

"Virat Kohli is a great player. Anything is possible for him. In 80's we had Sunil Gavaskar, then Sachin Tendulkar came and now we have Virat Kohli. With his impressive strokeplay, he also inspires other batsmen," Ganguly told IndiaTV during the show 'Cricket Ki Baat'.

According to Ganguly, Kohli is the most valuable asset that the Indian cricket team currently has in its possession. "Kohli is like a diamond in the team. He makes batting look so easy when he comes at the crease," he said.

With 9,919 runs in 212 ODIs, Kohli is now on the cusp of achieving a yet another milestone. The 29-year-old Delhi batsman is now just 81 runs away from the elite 10k club.

Having scored a blistering knock of 140 runs, Kohli motivated vice-captain Rohit Sharma to smash 152 runs in India's comprehensive eight-wicket win over the West Indies in the first ODI at Guwahati on Sunday.

It was Rohit's sixth 150+ score, which is the highest by any player in the ODI cricket.

The 31-year-old surpassed 'Master Blaster' Tendulkar and suspended Australian opener David Warner to top the list. They both have scored 150 or more five times while West Indies' Chris Gayle is third in the list along with Sri Lanka batting legend Sanath Jayasuriya and South Africa's Hashim Amla with four 150+ scores.

Watching such an incredible run of the 'Hitman' Rohit, Ganguly didn't shy to heap praises upon the Mumbai batsman.

"He (Rohit) is no less than Virat Kohli. He started slow yesterday but anchored the innings and led India to the victory," the 46-year-old said.
